Jamal Doumit, 91 of Coatesville, PA, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 while surrounded by family. Jamal was born January 4, 1934 in Lebanon to Melhem and Saidee Doumit. She is survived by and was the loving mother of Steve (Ghada) Doumit and brother Faraj Doumit and is preceded in death by her son Attieh Sfetkof, grandson Michael Sfetkof, sisters Wadad AlShakah and Helene Aftimos, and brothers Jirji and Karim Doumit. She was also the adored grandmother of Ashley Sfetkof, Charbel Doumit and Cayden Doumit, as well as great-grandmother to Kaylah Sfetkof. She was deeply spiritual and a devoted parishioner at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Coatesville, PA.
Her family describes her as the matriarch of their family, a woman whose strength, resilience, and unwavering love for those she held dear were unparalleled. She was one of the strongest people you could ever meet, and she showed that strength in countless ways, through the way she cared for her loved ones, worked tirelessly to support her family, and led by example in everything she did.
For 30 years, she served as the Lead Custodian at Coatesville Vocational and Technical School. In that role, she was a beloved figure to students, staff, and fellow workers alike, always going above and beyond. Her hard work and dedication were recognized in many ways, including having a yearbook dedicated to her, a tribute that reflects just how integral she was to the heart of the school.
Her feisty nature and her radiant smile were as much a part of her identity as her love for her family. She was fiercely loyal and unapologetically devoted to her loved ones, always putting them first and doing whatever it took to ensure their well-being. One of her greatest joys was bringing people together through something as simple, yet as significant, as a card game. Family events will never be the same without her competitive spirit, but every time a deck is shuffled, and a hand is dealt, her memory will live on.
A viewing is scheduled for 10:00 am and funeral service at 11:00 am, Friday, March 21st, 2025 at Maclean-Chamberlain Home Inc. located at 339 W Kings Hwy Rt. 340, Coatesville, PA 19320 followed by the Burial.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests those who wish to express sympathy consider making a donation to St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, in memory of Jamal Doumit.
